Schilling announces his retirement

    I would tend to agree. To me, coming up big in the postseason when the chips are down is worth more than a bunch of regular-season in August and September when your team is 20 games out of the race.
     
  3. Guy - I know you said all-star (small "a") quality and not actual All-Star games but I figured what the heck - why not show Schilling was generally held in higher regard by the fans and peers than Mussina or Blyleven.

    Schilling is really #1 in the modern era. The guy on the list ahead of him played in the 1890's if I recall correctly.

    If Schilling gets thru the next 4-7 years without being linked to steroids, he's a stone-cold lock.
