Recently, Paris Hilton had international success with her debut single, 'Stars Are Blind', Lindsay Lohan and Hilary Duff have both had a string of chart hits, while Nicole Kidman has released two successful songs - both were duets, one with her 'Moulin Rouge' co-star Ewan McGregor and the other with Robbie Williams.

Other actors who have hit the charts include Bruce Willis, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslett and David Hasselhoff - who is currently at number ten in the UK singles chart with a cover of the classic rock song, 'Jump In My Car'.

Perhaps the most bizarre - yet critically lauded - attempts to take the music charts by storm came from 'Star Trek' actors William Shatner - who teamed up with Ben Folds for a cover of the classic Pulp track, 'Common People' - and Leonard Nimoy, whose infamous 'Bilbo Baggins' has gone on to become a cult hit.
