You get what you pay for -- or in SB Nation's case, you get what you can meddle free labor out of by selling the illusion of being taken credibly.

Yeah, I was going to ask, can you get fired from something you're not paid for?

That site is garbage. I enjoy Uffsides for the weekly NFL previews and some of the other writers, but only if I already recognize their name. Just too much crap to sift through. I like my recycling to be separated.

Jon Bois is a goddamn treasure, but he barely writes anymore.

Yeah, he was one of the writers I used to enjoy. What happened, did he become a "personality"? I frankly don't follow that site or its writers as much as I used to when it first started out. Hell, I even enjoyed the Longform section. But let's not revisit that debacle.

I bet the sit-down with Ms. Hew went like this.

Or as I call it, "Control-C, Control-V" journalism.

I could never understand why writers would resort to copying another writer's words. I wouldn't want to admit anyone could write a story better than I could.

Generally I think it's more that they have information you don't have.

I believe he's in charge of some kind of special projects, which means he makes very odd, very involved videos that I enjoy.
