Say what you will about Wal-Mart (or Coca-Cola, for that matter) ...

... but they put together a pretty awesome ad that, for some reason, is only getting play in movie theaters and online. And here it is!

I saw this when I went to the movies recently. The thought and all is nice, but the Freecredit.com commercials have ruined me on liking anything where someone is walking around through the scene singing. Had it not been for the freecredit.com commercials, I would love this one.

That's a great ad. I hate the freecreditreport.com commercials as well, but this is different. It's not as smug as those are. There's just a kind of general sweetness to it.

Game Stop ad is far better...
The kid can't sing and needs either a haircut, to wash his hair or both...

They played the Game Stop ad at the theater too.

I don't even want to know how you found it or why you started looking for it.

I thought the Gamestop ad was tremendous, while the Wal-Mart ad was tacky and lame, managing to hit the demos of seperated families (cool stepmother!), MySpace/Twitter users, online dating, interracial couple, and a first romance in 1:00. It just felt so forced and phony. Maybe that was the intent.

I hate singing in commercials. It never works. Well, it worked in one case:
