It took me a good 10 minutes to get that. That was funny. I need sleep now.

Yes, Augie and the Minnesota schools all went to the Northern Sun. UNO, brain-dead as they were, stayed D-II and went to the MIAA. Hopefully that all changes (along with the move to the WCHA).

Of course, UND has been in the process of going D-I for a while now:

Careful. The way the PC police are going these days, someone might find the connection with the Army to be offensive.

As a passionate defender of the classiest uniform shirt in major professional sports, I say:

    Over my bloodied, dead body.

I believe Garrison High School is the Troopers, and their mascot dressed as a cavalry trooper. So it certainly would not be unprecedented in North Nowhere.

I also think that the Hawks jersey is the best one in sports.

well....a college in Quincy MA. has changed it's name from "Crusaders" to "Lions" :

A Christian college in Quincy has thrown its mascot to the lions, dropping the name Crusaders because of its historical connotations of religious wars.

The American Indians were systematically exterminated only a little more than 100 years ago.
You think that's not enough oppression? You're rooting for more?
