Futurama has the New New York Post as its go-to newspaper. An even scarier harbinger of the future: it's a broadsheet.

Wasn't this tried with John Elway? He did go to Stanford after all. I remember seeing newspaper promos in movie previews.

Wonder what they'd do in the film "Absence of Malice" now, with the scene where Melinda Dillon's character futilely goes from door to door in her neighborhood scooping up the papers from the front lawns and driveways, desperate to hide the story?

She'd have to blow up the internet.

What a heartbreaking scene and character. Tremendous performance.

"Smart is the New Sexy" or the Poynter approach? You go to Romenesko and are greeted by a guy IN A BOW TIE holding a newspaper.

(I'm sure he's a venerated journalist and all who I'm unaware of, but still....)

Newspapers: Our top editors still wear bowties and suspenders and type on 1950s Royals! Smell the nostalgia.
