    This may actually be doable.

    I'm in New York at HSBC that week. I'm staying in New Rochelle, but the offer's out for any SportsJournalists.commers to contact me, via PM. I'll be in town starting the afternoon of the 15th til the morning of the 23rd.

    If I do go and I get a room, I plan on checking in at the earliest possible time. Thus, there should be time for some pre-game activities.

    Damn, I'm going to be in NYC starting on July 30. Any chance some SportsJournalists.commers would do a second get together? I'm guessing probably not, but I figure it never hurts to ask.

    That is a good point, but seeing as it'll be a one-day-and-done deal, I figure one should get in as much drinking as possible.

    I guess I'm just figuring most hotels don't let you check in until 3.

    No reason you couldn't shove everything in a backpack for the overnight and then wear it into bars, I guess. They let you take backpacks into bars there?

    They would probably check the bags though. Why not delay our meeting time to get a few deep and then head out for the day? We also could meet somewhere and just hang out for a while before the check-in gets going. I don't know what time I was planning on arriving into NYC, but it probably would be around 12-1, just to walk around and see the city.
