That's like saying that the gameplan Jerry Tarkanian used in the 1990 title game was counterproductive.
This was one of the all-time butt whippings. Casey didn't need ideas. He just needed not to be whacko, and he pulled that off.

Imagine how bad Santorum would've been beaten had he run against a real candidate. What a stiff this Kerry Jr. is!

Too bad Bush couldn't get his ass kicked in similar fashion this year.

RS played "take it or leave it" in a campaign season where the PA electorate was only too happy
to "leave it". RS got "jacked up".

There was also his "family values" campaign where he claimed that any family should be comprised of husband working and wife at home. Yet at the same time, he was receiving a higher than standard living wage enabling him to do such things. One such thing was receiving an extremely low interest mortgage from a bank that doesn't offer mortgages to individuals with something along the lines of less than $1-million in that bank.

Okay, I get the picture...he was a little too religious for some of you. But as far as his finances go, it just looks like a good month for Harry Reid.

    hondo --

nothing to do with religion, everything to do with trying to codify his own peculiar interpretation of religious law.

    There is a big difference.

I'm pretty sure Santorum never tried to establish a state religion in Pennsylvania. Don't get carried away.

He wasn't defeated because he was religious, hondo.

Try as you might, wishing can't make it so.

I used to go to the same church as Santorum. How he got to his ideas from what we both were listening to, I have no idea. It's like we weren't even on the same planet, let alone in the same pew.

Oh, that's wonderful -- the system worked brilliantly. We solved the problem by replacing a career politician that's a family values guy with another career politician running on his daddy's name, who by the way is a family values guy as well. That's our system at its finest. Bob Casey has more in common idealogically with GWB than he does Linda Pelusi and Charles Schumer.
