Sandra Bullock and Jesse James

I feel the same way about this as I do what's going on with Tiger Woods. I don't care and don't know why I should care.
Still, this seems to be a very big story. Why? Somebody on one of the CNN morning shows said it had some sort of "sociological importance."
I'm sorry, I just don't see it.
Why do we care about this and why is it a big deal?
Should I care?

It would be just another celebrity affair but it came out a week after she won the Academy Award and sort of became America's newest sweetheart, so it's blown up because of that. We loved her and now she's been dealt a devastating blow! We weep for her.

And the fact the girl he cheated with has more tattoos than any 20 NBA players. And he's nicknamed the Vanilla Gorilla because he's so well-hung. Sociological importance? Uh, sure.

 

Also, he's a serial cheater, apparently, just like Woods. And you look at her, just like everyone does with Elin, and wonder how in the world a guy could cheat on someone that looks like that.

That said, I did enjoy James' Monster Garage show on Discovery several years ago. The one where they turned a Ford Mustang convertible into a high-powered lawnmower was among my favorites.

 

1. She's rich
2. She's beautiful (save the arguments, by any remotely heterosexual standards she's very nice-looking)
3. She's always been 10,000 times as successful as he was, now it's about 100,000 times
4. From every appearance he's a complete pig with about a 97% probabilty of being a virulent-STD carrier

Given factors 1-4, the fact she hasn't already sent a squadron of heavily-armed process servers to deliver him the iron-fisted hit-the-road-jack-without-a-fucking-penny divorce decree indicates she might not be real smart.

 

Where's Robert Ford when you need him?

 

The key to getting a pass on cheating on your spouse from the public is to cheat with someone better looking or more classy than your spouse.
I'm just sayin'. I'd say at least 50 percent of the "outrage" is based on James or Tiger Woods' terrible taste.

 

Bullock and James; Heather Locklear and Tommy Lee, then Richie Sambora; Pam Anderson and Lee. I could probably keep listing beautiful women who marry tatted-up druggie-rocker types who everyone knew were going to cheat on them. But they keep insisting on doing it, so when it happens time and time again ... we end up thinking it's news when in reality it's not news at all.

 

Ain't nothing new about Sandra.

I always have been a fan of Monster Garage and of West Coast Choppers, still am. I don't consider myself a "fan" of any celebrity individuals. I'm a fan of their work. If that makes me still a fan of Jesse, so be it. But even as someone who likes the guy, a few years ago when the news came out that Sandra was marrying him, I thought WTF.

Did anyone see Chopper Mania 3? The whole first half was his relationship with Janine Linemulder while he was building this bike to ride through Mexico with Kid Rock, and then the second half was Jesse and Kid Rock riding and talking about their respective relationships (KR with Pam Anderson). How'd all that work out? Not too gooooood.

 

She could have gotten 99 percent of all single men in America, and she chooses a guy who was married to a porn star.

If I could afford 99 percent of all the cars in America, should I bitch when the used one from Jose's Auto Trader off of JFK Blvd. breaks down on me after a few years?

If this was George Clooney bitching about a porn star he married cheating on him, would there be the outrage?
