San Fran suggestions

    Cool. Now that you mention it, I believe I have stayed there once before.

    Any ideas on the other hotels I mentioned? Guy I work with swears by the Stanford Court ...

    Stanford Court is not bad, it's on Nob Hill and walking distance to Union Square. Also two cable car lines run right by the hotel. If you get a chance, try the pancakes at Sears Fine Foods in Union Square.

    Stanford Court is ok. Not much in immediate area but the walk to Union Square is not bad as Standman has said.
