David Black (Akron, Honolulu) is "on the team" in an unspecified role.

What is the official thread? The first to be made? Or the first to be commented on?

I can't delete the other thread, a moderator will have to do it.

So what does this mean for the U-T? What has been Mr. Blacks MO at his two previous papers?

Is this the same guy who bought the King County Journal and South County Journal, combined them and then folded them?

Black slashed and burned in Akron. They cut loose 40 newsroom positions out of 161 after he came on board in 2006.
This does not augur well (not that anything does these days).

Judging from who else was looking at the paper, might have been the best option. Figure Tribune and Singleton would have just made the paper an "edition" of their L.A. properties. But it's going to suck regardless.

I am hoping and praying for a couple in sports, including one of the best writers out there and an all-around great dude, Mark Zeigler. Don't you touch him David Black, don't you dare.
