Because it's the toilet they're currently playing in times 100.

NFL probably should have pushed a little harder for 49ers and Raiders sharing Levi's, but, hell, those teams don't even play exhibitions against each other any more.

Realize that. But it's franchise suicide to play in Oakland for two years.

What MileHigh said, plus temps in triple digits well into October. And I don't see them pouring a lot of money into Sam Boyd when the Rebels will play in the new stadium as well.

Not sure which is Jiffier -- staying in Oakland for 2 years, or the idea of playing in the open-air college stadium for two years.

"Pushed a little harder"? How would that have worked exactly?

The 49ers never wanted or needed the Raiders, nor did the residents of Santa Clara. What authority would the NFL had to order it?

The stupid is running strong in some parts of the East Bay tonight.

If I may rephrase: I believe this is what the NFL wanted, like with the Giants and Jets sharing MetLife and the crumbling condition of Candlestick and the Coliseum. But logical thinking hasn't been the NFL's strong suit of late.

If they want to sit in Oakland and draw 5,000 fans a game for two years (or is it 3?), bully for them.

I don't think that's true. I don't think the NFL had much interest either way in whether the teams paired up.

The 49ers get a lot stronger with the Raiders gone.
