Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds -- Beatles, Elton John, William Shatner.

    Shatner's is, well, really something.

That rules. As much as I admire Kris and revere Cash, I'll actually take Willie's version of that one.

That's an exhaustive list, but people have to remember that many of those are "tags" and not full covers. They've been adding a bridge into a cover "tag" -- that can range from a few bars to almost the entire song -- on Daughter in concert for years.

WI -- Willie's is my favorite, followed by Kristofferson just ahead of Cash. You ever hear the Cash and Willie Storytellers disc?

    "Kiss" - Prince, Tom Jones

  7. They did Radiohead's Creep and it, unfortunately, was horrible. But their versions of the Beetles Beatles (ha) I've got a Feeling and Neil Young's Free World are awesome.

WN -- I'm partial to their cover of Neil's Fuckin Up.

I also have three versions of Quinn The Eskimo -- Manfred Mann, Dylan and Phish.

Gary Jules and Tears for Fears -- "Mad World"

    Jules' version is hauntingly good

    Aerosmith/Beatles -- "Come Together"
Aerosmith/Run DMC -- "Walk This Way"

This thread could exist solely on great blues songs that were covered by rock artists
