Exclusive rights to play baseball only, or is this the product of a cheap-wine hangover?

The report I saw says it's a baseball only deal.

The next Drew Henson. Mark it down. This guy is overrated as an athlete, in my opinion.

He's an easier project than a position player. His numbers are there.

Heard it earlier today... baseball only.
Don't know if he's any good or not, but for $8 mill guaranteed it's better than he could get from the NFL and no physical beating involved.

The Cubs are pretty good at identifying football talent. They had Quincy Carter in their system at one time and a guy who went on to play QB for LSU in the SEC title game a few years ago.

Last season's stats for Notre Dame. Nice record, but it seems like he got some good run support.

    Jeff Samardzija.. 4.33 8-2 15 starts 97.2 innings .272 opposing batting average

6+ innings a start isn't bad, and will probably increase, but the opponents batting average concerns me.

Sure, but there were others on the ND team who appear to have avoided the metal bats better.

    Wade Korpi....... 2.00 7-2 12 starts 76.1 innings 55 hits 27 walks 94 k's .204 opposing average
    Jeff Manship..... 3.26 9-2 14 starts 94.0 innings 78 hits 28 walks 111 k's .223 opposing average.

Not sure it's all about the metal here.

What were his stats with the Boise Hawks last year? He played rookie ball after the college season ended.
