Salt Lake Tribune looks to go nonprofit

    Be interesting to find out what kind of taxes the paper has been paying up to now.

    Especially if the last few owners have been writing off the paper's losses.

    When the NFL was a non-profit it wasn't avoiding taxes because all the profits from the league flowed down to the teams., which paid taxes. There may have been some benefit from the teams individually recognizing the income, but it wasn't like what the NFL earned was not subject to taxation, like a non-profit would be.
