Per Florio at PFT. (He's had this beat covered.)

I hope for Florio's sake you mean "covered" in a figurative sense ... :D

How exactly has Florio had that beat covered? By linking to other people's work, as usual?

Yeah, it seems like Deadspin's been the main ones on all things Salisbury.

I love the part when he mourns it having ruined "a good career."

    Hiestand's last sentence:

"Only the hardhearted wouldn't see a chance for his redemption."

That's a little too much editorializing for me. In this media world, with not a lot of slots open for a helluva lot of qualified souls who haven't done profoundly idiotic things (and more ex-jocks joining the scene all the time), no, I don't see his redemption anytime soon. And don't call me hardhearted for thinking so.

"It was just a joke" is usually the next line right after "I didn't do it" doesn't work.

May well be true in this case, but the fact that he said it doesn't make me believe it.

He was 43 when he did it. 43!! WTF compels a 43-year-old man to do this?
