What is the typical starting pay for a recent graduate with a master’s degree in journalism? How does it vary from small, medium, and large market? Do people with a master’s usually start at a higher salary than those with only a B.A.?

    Any information would be appreciated.

You should ask for a minimum of six weeks severance.

Well, based on his other posts, that Masters is from Florida, so I think that can probably get you $8-$9 an hour.

No, but they do usually start with a higher debt-to-income ratio.

Your internships would matter about 1,000X more than a Masters.

I have one and I've never been asked about it.

I have been told by an employer, point blank, "your master's degree means nothing."

At newspapers, that is 100 percent true.

After all newspapers fold in five years, it will come in handy. :D
  11. There's a lot of truth in that post, I think, Mizzou. There are certainly fewer and fewer jobs in this field. There's nothing wrong with getting some extra education so you can go into teaching/PR/other if you need to.
