Might be a d_b, but Salary.com lists eight degrees that have a poor return for the investment of college.

Social work, education, religious studies and psychology among the eight, but No. 1 is communications

    It's a lot of clicks.

You'd think the ink-stained newsrooms and TV studios are full of wealthy and famous journalists. Not quite. Although these skills require lots of education and training, they buried the lead regarding the lack of payoff. Check these communications jobs out:

People were often shocked to find out how much I made as a sports writer. Absolutely shocked.

Yeah, I've seen those before. They simply analyze the numbers. They don't account for job satisfaction or what a person actually wants to do with his/her days.

So, yeah, if making the maximum amount of money is what one is most interested in, I would suggest other fields as well.

And after submitting the article, the author set fire to the busar's office at her alma mater. The end.

Okay, just to underscore the idiocy of this report...here's what they ranked as #1 COLLEGE DEGREE THAT WILL EARN YOUR MONEY BACK:

Haha! That is a riot. I hadn't even clicked on the initial link.

Interesting too that they would list speech writer, communications manager and Web content manager as great jobs that English majors could get, yet somehow out of reach of communications majors.

What if someone wants to be able to pay his bills and eat and send his children to college some day?
