Just received word from a friend of mine in Ohio that Ryan Waldheger, who worked for the MISL and the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram, passed away over the weekend after battling Leukemia since 1996.

I met Ryan a few years ago and he was truly a great guy and a strong -- but fair -- writer. Had he not been forced to miss a lot of time because of the illness over the years, then I am sure that he would have done some great things.

The best thing that I can say about Ryan is the I truly respected him and I had hoped our paths would have crossed again. The Journalism community lost a good one.

Again, RIP. This is so sad, seeing young journos go way too early.
