Way to be a smartass. But it's been more than a decade, last names probably changed, etc. I don't think it's unreasonable to assume it'd be a little hard to find some of these women.

Caught bits and pieces of the OTL episode cited. Does ESPN stream this, because it's worth a look. Because it sure seems like there was a railroad job going on here.

Apparently, Rutgers did a pretty hefty background check. One to the tune of $70,000.

It doesn't appear they were the "right diggers."

It's probably time for somebody to do a background check on Kate Sweeney and find out what her relationship to Hermann was.

Wouldn't be a surprise if one of these women contacted the Star-Ledger, because she didn't want this AD's past covered up. Or the Star-Ledger asked a few questions and realized something was up, then starting looking around for any of the players. However they got their foot in the door, once they found one team member willing to talk about it, given it was apparently a unanimous sentiment among team members, they could likely provide contact information for teammates, through Facebook, phone numbers or whatever. I'm sure a group that goes through something like that has several players who have stuck together/stayed in contact through the years.

It may not have been as easy as calling information and asking for Jane Doe's current phone number, but it's not like it's impossible if you know what you're doing.

Weren't the women involved discussing it amongst themselves on Facebook?

What the mother eff. The university president promoted an administrator to chief of staff in April to help him deal with the fallout of the Mike Rice debacle.

Oh yeah. That same chief of staff had been sued three months earlier for a “campaign of discriminatory actions” that forced four older employees to retire.
