    411 or tracking them down in the phone directory, I'll bet. In other words, what any other journalist whose world isn't limited to what goes on between the lines does. Good skills to learn, if you happened to miss that day in Newswriting 101.

    Since Rutgers will have to pay them -- well, at least Barchi -- to go away, just like it paid Mike Rice, meaning the taxpayers of New Jersey will cough up more cash. I wonder how much tuition will go up in the next few years as a result.

    How do people who get fired for cause still get contract buyouts?

    Good point.

    But these payments are basically either hush money or used to keep the person you're firing from going to court.
