I think you're missing the reference to the Trib's politics, which are very right-wing.

Some of this has to fall on the editors, but Prisuta is the one who talked to the source and the one who got fooled. But I agree. He'll get away with it.

I still like reading Joe Rutter, he'd never have gotten suckered like this.

 

Ok...wasn't sure how familiar you were with the Trib outside of its sports section.

 

Rutter was excellent on the Pirates before he chose to give it up. Same with Starkey on the Penguins. Too bad those guys are both still on staff, but not on beats.

 

I think Joe left the travel of the Pirates beat for his girlfriend.
