Don't forget that Tommy Lasorda crawled out his cave to remind us to watch. "It's your duty, Judy."

Checked out espn.com and cbssportsline and they already have their 'expert' picks up and it's Tigers across the board. Of course, these seers have pretty much whiffed completely on their predictions to date and seen their Mets/Yanks predictions go up in flames.

The first two games will decide the series. Are the Tigers going to be rusty after the layoff or will they tense up in the spotlight? If the Tigers jump out 2-0, they'll be awfully tough to beat. But, if the Cardinals can split with a Reyes/Weaver combo, they'll be dangerous going home with Carpenter/Suppan.

Ok, so the Tigers are better rested, have better pitching, a better record and are from the superior league. All signs point to a Detroit championship.

But call it a hunch or maybe just false hope, but the stars seem to be aligning for the team that owes John Smoltz a playoff share for beating the Astros in game 162 or they wouldn't even be here.

The ghost of Joe Medwick prevails. I want to say Cards in 5, but we'll go Cards in 6.

My greatest hope is a Tigers sweep (damn, it was tough typing that)...get LaRussa the fuck out of here and get that fucking Cards logo out of my sig ASAP!

beautiful logo, spnited. Looks even better in back to back posts.

And it could be worse--the 8 second wonder could have made you go with a goofy Fredbird pic rather the elegant sign of National league supremacy.

I chose the logo, Kirk, and it is the one I like best (or dislike least, to be honest).
Looks OK even if I hate the team it represents.

Rodriguez already has a title. Couldn't they find another deserving vet on the Tigers, like Niefi Perez?

Number of times they'll show shots of Gibson and Lolich from 68: 12

Number of times they'll show a certain Cardinal catcher from 68 named McCarver: I've lost track and please make them stop

No offense, but why does anybody outside of the TV industry give a shit about the ratings and how many people are watching? You hear that every time two teams that aren't glamorous make a champioship series. Who the fuck cares? Either watch it or don't.

mustardbased/Rolen is entering Starman/Larry Brown territory. Please don't ever let me hold a grudge against an athlete like this, lest I be viewed as a fucking psycho.
