Running WNBA Finals thread

I think I saw an infobox on SportsCenter this morning that said when the Shock lost the opening game when they'd been in the finals in the past, they won the championship, and vice-versa when they won the opener.

 

I have such a crush on Becky.

 

Michael Jordan didn't win the championship in his rookie year either. She finished fourth in scoring and first in rebounding and is already the face of the league. That's pretty darn good in my opinion.

 

Just got back from Game II at the AT&T Center here in San Antonio.
Katie Smith was tough as nails (as usual) for the Shock, which also got tons of backdoor pass points and inside points in general.
This one started out 10-0 Detroit, then it was 16-2, then 21-5.
After San Antonio actually went ahead 43-42 in the third, the Shock won going away (something like 65-55)

Detroit is much bigger, across the roster, than SA
Taj McWilliams, Smith and Co. are in control of this series.

 

Mahorn helped Laimbeer have a good night on the bench

 

All I see is a red box, Blitz. Did he punch the camerman's eyeball out?

I know this is old news, but why didn't Hammon get a spot on the Olympic team? And yeah, I know she got asked, but that shit didn't seem sincere to me.

 

Because Anne Donovan didn't bother to issue her an invite. Not surprising given Donovan's behavioral history.
