So this thread is about being overrated then?

Your opinion sucks! :D I'd hit it with no regrets and she's not as awful as ... well, 70 percent of the SportsCenter hosts.

    Ike.

We'll burn through all the Tina jokes in about 3 hours.

Assuming we don't burn through the South Park jokes first.

    Ready, Ike? Kick the hurricane!
    don't kick the hurricane

And of course, the K storm is ... Kyle.

Stan was retired in 2005 after killing a bunch of people in Mexico, the closest we'll get to Kenny is Kenneth on the 2011 Pacific list, and I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for Hurricane Cartman, Tweak, Butters, Token or Mr. Hankey.

The new batch of info has Hanna making a more northwest motion later. Good news for SoFla, bad news for anywhere from Jacksonville to Cape Hatteras.

The 5-day looks bad. A lot depends on what's on that sixth day -- does she keep turning back towards Greenland and make a beeline towards Florida?

Now I've seen that (map at the top of this page updates automagically). Savannah, you're on the clock.

Depression 9 might be the most worrisome of all to South Florida.

Noticed that one, but the historical tracks map at Weather Underground indicates that only one storm following that track has ever hit land, and that was Fran 12 years ago.

NHC seems to think differently about this one, though.

    Re: Running Hurricane Hanna thread

From what I understand (and by understand, I mean read on Dr. Masters' blog) is the placement of the Bermuda high and other upper-level features are forcing storms that would normally recurve into the North Atlantic graveyard ("fish storms") are instead working their way more west to WNW, giving the East Coast more of a threat this season. Already we've had Fay yo-yo across Florida and Hanna making more southernly moves. So TD 9 (which will almost certainly be Ike at the 5 p.m. advisory) has a more long-term west component than the historical record would have it.

And there's a big blob that just rolled off of Africa that the NHC thinks will be a depression in the next 12-24 hours. So we'll need running Ike and Josephine threads soon. Still hoping Kyle develops while Ike's around.

Sadly, the M name this year is Marco.

    No Mike and Ike.
