Hey, abortions, child support and STD treatments aren't cheap, you know.

I think there is zero chance his deal with TM requires he play the newest driver, just a TaylorMade driver. I don't think any of the equipment deals are that restrictive, and certainly not his. My guess is he had good TrackMan numbers with the M3, and did fine with it when he wasn't swinging it under tournament pressure. I'm probably overthinking this. He was cutting across the ball really hard, so I'm not sure any club would have saved him.

I would think Woods has no problem playing what he's comfortable with. Seems like this might be a case of not being able to take the driver swing from the range to the course.

His misses seemed to get gradually better as the tournament went on. Sure, 3/14 fairways is never good. But there's a difference between being a few yards off and 60 yards off, which he was at times.

FYI, ratings up 38 percent from last year.

I don't know for sure either, but the big TM contract guys like Rose, Day, DJ, Sergio (before this year) always had/have the latest and greatest driver in the bag when it released at this time of year. Maybe they switched back to an old reliable for majors, but the company's big driver rollouts always have pretty much full participation from the Tour staff. That's how sheep like us keep buying the things*.

*Though not me. I've been playing a six-year-old TaylorMade RBZ that I trust more than my wife.

Another Tiger Woods book. He's burned enough bridges where I'm sure there are some axes ground (grinded?) - and he employs enough people who don't want to lose the meal ticket. I don't know if I put much weight into anything that is ever said about him.

    Holy niblick!

Earl Woods, the worst kind of stage father, profited early and often from his son’s career. He was a liar and an adulterer. The later years of his life were particularly sordid. He hired multiple young women to attend to his needs.

“Pornography played steadily on the television,” the authors write. “Sex toys were stuffed in drawers, and sexual favors were performed at Earl’s request. ‘It was a house of horrors,’ recalled a former employee. ‘Every drawer. Every cabinet.’”

Is it any wonder that Woods was a sex addict and serial philanderer? Yuck.
