Matthew Perry playing someone addicted to painkillers? Fucking brilliant!!!

The line about how it's no big deal to get a standing ovation for a national anthem because everyone's already standing was classic.

    This show is great.

Kick ass. Definite must-see every week.

And Amanda Peet gets hotter every second.

    First thoughts:
1.) Very smart writing. Not roll on the floor laughing. But very funny.
2.) You can definitely tell Aaron Sorkin has a hand in this program.
3.) A tiny bit of over-acting at points, but very good cast that will work.
4.) I"m going to love watching this show. Which if history follows the same path, means the show will be on one year because it's too smart and over most of this country's head

I thought it was a great pilot, and probably will be a great first season. I'm a little worried there's not enough subject matter to carry it past two seasons. Hope I'm wrong, because the Sorkin-Schlamme combo is fun to watch.

The opening 15 minutes were reminiscent of the opening minutes of the inaugural West Wing, which means it's an instant classic. In fact, it seemed a lot like the West Wing in pacing, syle, and substance - just with a change of venue. The references to the 700 Club were priceless. I'm hooked. It's already on my TiVo season pass list.

Count me in as someone who enjoyed the first one. But was it just me or were there about eight shots of Amanda Peet with that weird smile following a scene. Guess they could show worse-looking people...

Quite good. I liked it a lot. I'm too lazy to look this up, but who was the woman who played the Christian cast member who had a fling with Matthew Perry? She looks very familiar.....

Sarah Paulson, was in Deadwood and a bunch of movies.
IMDB says she's gay. Partner is Cherry Jones.

I was never a West Wing viewer, but like those of you who were, to me it had a very familiar pacing to another Sorkin show that -- like this premiere tonight -- had Felicity Huffman, "Sports Night."

Even the musical undertoning during scenes sounded the same.

In fact, I thought that NBC kind of blew it a few years back when ABC decided Sports Night was too smart for its audience. NBC should have gotten Sorkin to move Sports night over to their network and right away plugged it into the Thursday night lineup.

Anyway, it is now in my season pass.

Sarah Paulson ... who was also Amanda Peet's sidekick in "Jack and Jill."

I told you all you would love this ... saw it last week myself and was blown away.
