Running Ryder Cup '06 thread - SPOILERS (like you couldn't figure that)

Discussion in 'Sports and News' started by The Rules of Golf, Sep 22, 2006.

  1. Sitting in an airport before sunrise waiting on my crop-duster is made much easier by free wireless Internet and Ryder Cup golf going on across the pond. It seems that Messr. Woods put his tee shot into the ditch off the first tee, and while that match has righted the proverbial USS, the valiant Europeans have the early advantage.

I have a small wager on the Euros with another board regular, who was so ensnared in stars and stripes he couldn't see straight.

Europe 2.5, U.S. 1.5 ... Tiger and Furyk did their job. Cink and Henry played a nice match. DiMarco and Man-boobs couldn't get it done.

US trails in three of four afternoon matches. Furyk and Woods down 2 after 10.
    I smell an ass kicking.

Paddy Harrington just gagged on 18 to give Campbell and Johnson a halve.
Furyk found the drink on 18 to ensure a Euro W. Garcia 7-0 in alternate shot.

Toms gaacks on 17, missing a chance to guarantee a half-point. He and Cink are all-square with Howell and Stenson going to 18.

And what's the Euros issues with the U-S-A chants? Not like it's being done when Monty is in his backswing.
Nice shot from the sand from Phat Phil at 18.

DiMarco nice pull on 18, gives Euros a halve.
    5-3 Euros after day 1
