You've got to be kidding. You really think a guy with 11 rings is stressed out about being perceived as a career failure?

He knew when he took the Knicks job that his long term legacy is bullet-proof regardless of what happens--this gig was just a nice way of squeezing a $60 million parting-gift out of dumbshit Dolan without having to genuinely work hard. And now he gets the final 24 mil without having to do anything at all.

Rovell had a helluva stat this morning.
Jackson was employed by the New York Knicks for 1200 days.
    Made a total of $60,000,000.
    Do the math......$50k per day.

I'm sure Phil can score a juicy teevee gig if he wants to keep his hand in the game, probably as demanding (or not) as he feels like.

But he doesn't need money and he doesn't have anything to prove.

Phil will go up to his cabin in Montana, smoke a bunch of weed, read some books, and not give one ounce of shit about what happens in the NBA.

Presumably his weed will no longer be delivered on a bike now.

So there was all kinds of teeth gnashing when KD used his free agency rights to go to another team.

CP invokes his same rights (albeit it was a trade) and not a word about how he is leaving LA behind.

For the 1,000th time, it wasn't KD leaving. Players should leave to go where they want to.

It was being up 3-1 against the Warriors and then leaving to join the 2014-5 champs who had 73 wins in the 2015-6 season and made it to the finals.

CP was up 3-1 against the Rockets two years ago, and lost. Has the statute of limitations run out on that?

So what are the definitive rules?

It's possible to support players in finding the best situation for themselves while also not liking what certain moves do to the league competitively, aesthetically or otherwise.
