Between my wife and I, there were 23 "who's that?"; 37 "ugly dress" and 19 "wrap it up, dude."

Not a criticism - but it is interesting that all four awards went to "actors" more than "movie stars." Figured they would throw Close a bone even if the role was beneath her. She's probably played five or six roles that would have won this year: Fatal Attraction, Dangerous Liasons, Garp, The Big Chill, Reversal of Fortune..

Maybe they're waiting for Sunset Boulevard?

But he didn’t sing , right? How can you win best actor for a singing role when you didn’t sing?

According to his interview with Terry Gross, Malek did sing to help link up his mouth with the audio and they included some of his voice at parts.

And how many other actors up for best actor sang in their movies? Other than Bradley Cooper...

Confirmed tonight that the Oscars don’t need a host.

Who would have taken the bet 20 years ago that of the four leads in Jerry Maguire - Tom Cruise would be the only one without an Oscar in 2019.

Particularly if the alternative is Kevin Hart.

I have not seen The Favourite (yet). But Olivia Coleman is absolutely delightful.

Weird thing about the Oscars - despite most of these honorees spending the last three or four months picking up awards and such - they still act like they were taken completely by surprised when trying to formulate a speech. Hell - EVERYONE has practiced an Oscar speech whether they are in the biz or not - you would think there would be a bit better preparation - especially for people who have been nominated or won before.
