    Or the sometimes-crappy play.

Good game. USA deserves that win. Russia played good in first half, but they couldn't do more. But, Russians have so many young talented players. Khvostov, Vorontsevich and Mozgov. They will play important role in future in European and World basketball.
    Cheers,

Forgot to say, in other game Lithuania leads by 20 against Argentine at the end of first half. Great game.

Doesn't look like Scola's going to be an issue in the semis.

The usual Starman bullshit. If the US doesn't win by 50 they suck and they got fucked by the officials, except you forgot to mention "sludgeball."

Wow, Lithuania demolished Argentina. Great game, Lithuania played excellent, Argentina nothing. USA could have a problem with Lithuania in semifinals. We will see.

USA should be able to win this game, especially if Durant steps up like he did in his last game. I think it will be closer then some people believe, but I believe the Americans should win by at least ten points.

    Hoping for a great game.

I think Heat fans should take notice of what Durant is doing in this tourney.

Watched about a quarter. In true NBA style, the US built the lead to double digits at halftime, and basically traded baskets from then on in.

Durant will start in 2012 whether Kobe plays or not.

Westbrook, Rose and Gordon could probably make the team too, depending on how many holdovers from 2008 elect to come back. Billups if Krzyzewski feels obligated to hold open the Jason Kidd Memorial Roster Spot for a washed-up point guard who was good a decade ago.

My guess is the Miami Musketeers will elect either to play, or not, as a 3-man unit. All or nothing.

That's right Starman, bitch as usual about an easy win in the gold medal game.
Again, you forgot the part where the international refs fucked over the US

check the foul totals, FIBA business as usual.

That's why in FIBA competition, NBA-style keep-the-score-low sludgeball and basket-trading is a recipe for disaster: leave the score close enough for the refs to fuck you out of it, and they will.

The objective of any US team in FIBA competition should always be to destroy, demolish, annihilate the opponent -- run the score up over the moon so the ref-fucking can't beat you. If you're up 9 points and the refs fuck you 3 straight times down the court and somebody hits a couple threes, you're fucked. If you're up 39 points, nobody cares.

Instead we seem terminally afraid to hurt anybody's feelings.
