Your first five picks should all contribute quite a bit. The middle three aren't bad picks, in my opinion, because they'll be able to add some depth on your team. While the bottom seven look to be pretty expendable.

Ellis isn't bad, actually. He moved to a starting spot last year and improved quite a bit. Foye's not bad, either, and will get more scoring chances with Garnett out of Minnesota (the same goes with Ricky Davis), and West looks to be Seattle's sixth man. The rest of the guys probably won't help you too much.

I have a draft in a few minutes. Hopefully it should go well. It's going to be the first one for which I am present.

Guy, I wouldn't waste a waiver claim on any of those guys. Wait until someone drops a better player. The waiver priority will be big later in the season.

I completely messed up on my last pick and got Brent Barry. Why?

    That cat can dunk, though.

Who do I grab when waiver time is over? Anything there at all?

Is Desmond Mason or Jeff Green available?

It depends on what you need. From those players, I'd take Hakim Warrick. He can give you points and rebounds in a hurry. He averaged 12.7 points and 5.1 rebounds a game last season, primarily as a reserve, and he's playing behind the Pau Gasol -- who's out for the next week or so -- and Milicic, who is, well, Milicic. Granted, Gasol plays center a lot more than forward, but Warrick could still see plenty of time if one of those guys go down.

Here's his game log from last year: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3945/gamelog;_ylt=ArPkSxMefdSKSTc20ws4FhykvLYF.

But if there's a hot shot rookie, you might want to take a gamble on him. If the player's a bust, don't think twice about cutting him.

Thanks. In general, I play fantasy enough to have a handle on the strategy, I just haven't followed the league closely & don't know the players. Just picked up Warrick for Bowen, & if Rasaul Butler or Najera or Mo Petersen who were all just dropped clear waivers, I'll probably pick up someone from them.
