Outstanding televised baseball game this afternoon from Omaha.
Georgia'd battle back, then Fresno'd do likewise.
A two-run homer by the SEC Player of the Year sealed Game 1 for Georgia.
(Along with the lights-out closer who ranked second in the nation in saves)
Georgia won 7-6, I believe. A great effort from both squads.
    Fun to watch this one.

Well, I don't know about "sealed" since Fresno still had a 1-run lead after Beckham hit his homer.

But it was a pretty big hit, yes.

Great game. Can't wait for tomorrow night. Go Dawgs!

Great game tonight. I've known David Perno since I was a kid so I'm rooting for him and the Dogs to close it out tomorrow.

I sure hope so. It was disappointing to see Fresno blow that lead tonight, but it was a fun game to watch nevertheless.

I've watched this Georgia team all season and every cheesy, corny cliche about heart, the size of the dog and never say die applies to them. It's amazing. The only CWS game they didn't have to come from behind to win was the second Stanford game.

I was extremely impressed by Fresno State. They are definitely playing over the expectations of anyone. But beating this Georgia team twice just isn't going to happen.

Now I hope I don't have to eat my words.

Kinda thought Georgia might turn out to be pretty good when a pretty highly thought-of South Carolina (at least at the time) went there early in the season, hit five home runs in the series ... and scored a total of five runs in getting swept 1-0, 5-3 and 4-2.

A leadoff single by Georgia opens things in Game 2.

    This thing could end 17-16.

This is going to be a good one.

What a miserable pitching performance by Georgia. Game 3 beckons unless Georgia can score 8 in the ninth. And not allow any more runs.
