Who in the world is going to want to coach this Minnesota team. Bill Lynch is a decent coach at Indiana and the Hoosiers can barely keep their heads above water. The Gophers don't seem too different.

Maybe Brady Hoke? But doesn't he hold out for the possibility of a Michigan offer?

Minnesota has a few things going for it that Indiana doesn't:

    Brand new stadium.
Only Division I-A program in the state
A fan base that desperately wants a competitive team
    It's not a basketball school
It's in a major metropolitan area

The pieces are in place to for the U to be a successful program. They just need to find the right guy.

    But they never do.

Indiana just renovated its stadium. It actually looks really nice. Of course, it isn't brand new, but certainly not bed. And now it looks better than the Purdue's and Northwestern's of this world.

How Dan Hawkins still has a job is mind-boggling.

I think Colorado and Minnesota would be crazy not to go after Mike Leach.

I know it's just North Texas, but I'm amazed Dodge kept his job this long. Guy went 6-37 in three-plus years, with three of those wins over Division I-A newbie Western Kentucky (the others over La-Monroe, Ball State and FAU). That's Kansas State in the pre-Snyder era bad, and Dodge didn't have to face Oklahoma and Nebraska every year.

Leach's act won't play in the Twin Cities.

    Boulder, on the other hand...

Hot rumor of the day is that Jeff Bower, late of Southern Miss, is the frontrunner at North Texas. I think his name has been mentioned for every C-USA-or-below job opening in the last three years.
