A preliminary agreement has been reached between the teams for Atlanta to receive Teixeira and left-handed reliever Ron Mahay from Texas for catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia, minor league shortstop Elvis Andrus and two minor league pitchers.

Baseball America rates Saltalamacchia and Andrus as the Braves' top two prospects in their organization.

The Fort-Worth Star Telegram, citing a Rangers source, is reporting that the two pitchers Texas will receive are 19-year-old right-hander Nestali Feliz and another pitcher to be determined.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the other pitcher involved in the trade is left-handed pitching prospect Matt Harrison, ranked by Baseball America as the third-best prospect in the Braves' organization.

Wow, highway robbery by the Rangers if that's the deal. Tex is good but I'm not sure he's worth that kind of return. Mahay's only plus is that he's left-handed, which is offset by the fact he sucks.

The Phillies get Kyle Lohse and his 6-12 record and 4.58 ERA (6.42 on the road) from the Reds for Matt Maloney, a Double-A pitcher.

Apparently, the White Sox were near a deal to send the Red Sox Dye but it fell through.

Wait, someone traded FOR Kyle Lohse?

    Desperation is a stinky cologne.

Somebody has to provide the bullpen "stability" with Ryan Madson on the DL. :)

  7. Stability my ass, the shit just got a wobble that a weeble would be jealous of. Ugh. And knowing Gillick, when Werth is eligible to come off the DL, Coste will go back to Ottawa instead of dumping Rod Baraj-ass.

Salty didn't have a position to play in Atlanta, Elvis Andrus is hitting .244 (and plays the same position as Escobar and Renteria) and Harrison was seen as only a No. 4 guy. Not that much.

More proof that high school athletes pull the best tail.

Graph is towards the bottom of this column. Right before "Around the Majors"

Andrus is a singles hitter who doesn't walk much (take a look at his BA/on-base/slugging comparison: .244/.328/.335) and he's close to setting a career-high in K's, too.

On the other hand, his next home run will be his career high. And it will be his fourth of the year.

    He's Rafael Belliard Jr.

On Si.com, Jon Heyman reported that the pitching prospect sent to the Rangers was Neftali Perez, not Matt Harrison. Apparently the Rangers had injury concerns regarding Harrison.

I should have used the sarcasm font instead of quotes around stability.
