Pujols homer in his fifth consecutive game gives him 30 or more in all 7 of his major league seasons. Needs 17 RBIs to make it 7 for 7 in 100 RBI seasons.

    I have a feeling he'll get there.

The media is to blame for Webb's scoreless streak stopping at 42 innings ... well, at least according to Ned Yost.

If there is any justice in this world, Joba gets smoked by Boston in the 6 games they have left... if he's allowed to pitch in any of them.

Will Guillermo Mota ever pitch again for the Mets? Interesting question posed by Gary Cohen during last night's game: Is Aaron Sele still on this team? Hey, Sele can't be any worse than Mota, can he?

Maybe Mota can pitch for the St. Lucie Mets.

My brother recently said to me: Aaron Sele still pitches in the major leagues? Surely he is just a mop-up guy, right?

Mota will be fine as soon as he finds a good, undetectable steroid.

Sadly, he's not just a mop-up guy, but that's all he should be. I was astounded to see him still pitching. Quietly, he's been in the big leagues on a consistent basis since he came up in 1993. This is his first season that he's been used primarily out of the bullpen.

    As for Mota: He's trash.
