So sad. A two shot lead with 3 to go and on the par 5 she’s only got 20 yd pitch and she sails it off the green and takes a 6. Then a three putt bogey from 15-20 ft. Ugh. After last year’s debacle at the US Open and now this. The inevitable label is hard to avoid. The only problem with Lexi is the networks think she’s the only US player out there.

She also had a major taken away from her by a fat slob on a Laz-y-boy who was watching a day old event he DVD’d and bitching to the LPGA about a ruling
That said, she’s a Trumper so I have no sympathy

Why wouldn't she be a Trumper, she's a privileged white lady who has never faced any discrimination, never heard any disparaging remarks about her skin color, been ostracized by the mainstream nor told to "go back to your country." Life's grand for her. (she may be a wonderful person otherwise but I have no sympathy, same for Ms. Sorenstam and Nicklaus.)

Inside-baseball stuff, but good sj.com fodder. It's been obnoxious. As if these leagues think reporters can't cover two things at once.

This is good for a laugh.

Norman and Co. have seen enough already, they're going full-bore next year. The schedule will be interesting; with eight events this year they are pretty much tiptoeing around all the PGA Tour's key weeks. At 14, that's gonna be tougher. And I'll bet it's going to be a solid roster of 48 guys without the random Thais and South Africans.

So who's getting relegated? Are their signing bonuses guaranteed?

Ahead of schedule? They've played one tournament and one round.

Also, 14 tournaments? What happened to eight tournaments to "spend more time with my family." Oh, and LIV sets the schedule, not the players.

LIV was going to have 10 events next year and then do the full league thing in 2024. But all the players knew schedule increases were coming.

The relegation thing would be amazing -- and not that farfetched. The PGA Tour has a few "reshuffles" every year to determine status for those not fully exempt, and some players can get left out in the cold after a couple bad months. LIV has 48-player fields but they've had more than 48 guys already between the two events, so maybe they're building out the reserves. The team "captains" like DJ, Phil, Bryson, Brooks will be untouchable but there could be a lot of guys who get signing bonuses but only conditional status. Look at what Andy Ogletree shot in London and how he's not playing this week.

Has anyone heard any fallout from equipment sponsors from all of this? They had families of 9/11 victims protesting the event in Portland today. I mean, Tiger lost sponsors for cheating on his wife, is the LIV tour worse that that? Would playing in the Pyongyang Open be similar? Using equipment made by prison or child labor?

The only problem with Lexi is that NBC doesn't realize she has a last name.
