Yes. But by the 10th hole the fans and few media were like "screw it, how crazy can this get?" There was an 11-hole playoff on the PGA Tour long ago but it was halted for darkness and the players shared the title.

One of the worst takes on this whole thing.

    Poor Brooksie.

Monahan went to the Koepka wedding earlier this month. Pretty cold, Brooksie.

Gosh, for the life of me I can't figure out where Eamon Lynch stands on LIV Golf.

Small news, in a sense, but welcome news. After the Masters and not being able to hold his water before CBS showed the Rory bunker shot, I figured that was that.

Larry Loretti did the same. Had a sponsorship deal with Te-Amo.

Trevor Immelman's not gonna ruin any CBS golf naps. Also, Immelman should give 10 percent to Phil because that was sure as heck his chair before the last five months happened.

And wouldn't you know it? Phil was right with much of what he said, even as it got him in deep doodoo. LIV, he said, presented an opportunity to give players leverage and sure enough, the PGA Tour woke up and found tens of millions in the couch cushions in Ponte Vedra to create new limited-field events to keep their stars happy. Monahan can say they were in the works well before LIV and that LIV didn't actually move them to action, but that's as believable as $20 twilight specials on the Stadium Course at Sawgrass.

Phil would've had to be CBS's top analyst until his 100th birthday to get close to the money the Saudis gave him.

Didn't Steve Stricker's wife used to be his caddy?
