Max Scherzer is pitching in Miami against the Marlins today. In the top of the eighth now. Nothing going on there, though ...

Bryce Harper is 0 for 3 with 2 strikeouts to this point in the game.

Why does Bryce Harper suck now?

just heard on the Cubs TV broadcast that:

In his 82 career starts as a National Max Scherzer has not allowed a hit thru 6 innings eleven times.

Verlander perfect through five innings, strikes out the first Mariner in sixth inning ...

... then he doesn't make it out of the frame, as Seattle ties it 4-4. Ben Gamel and Mitch Haniger, ladies and gentlemen!

Schwarber sent down to AAA Iowa by the Cubs.

What Schwarber could've yielded the Cubs in a trade last July β€” even while on the DL assuming the commish would've allowed it β€” is an interesting hindsight consideration given what they're going to end up having to pay in prospects or in money to get a starter this offseason.

Yeah but what he did in the World Series was worth passing on. Flags fly forever

There's no way he's this bad, considering his pedigree and track record. Seems like a guy who just may have tried to do too much, too early coming back from an injury and being placed in a role he was ill-suited for. He needs to go work to get his mechanics and timing back in a less stressful environment.
