    The Chechens lack of nuclear warheads might have actually made Sochi the safer choice.

    Not to get too over the top on this, but I think next to the actual games (minus the cheesy TV stories, etc.), the announcement day is one of the more exciting ones in sports. Think about what it means for the host city and country, aside from the obvious angles. Think about the pride the people in this city and region have right about now.

    I was thinking more of the excuse it's going to give V. Putin to lay waste to the neighborhood in service of "Olympic security."
