UNC should be on the open list.

If they hire Malzahn, does he have to bring his wife?

Already created a separate thread, but Meyer to Ohio State is seemingly official:

Cincinnati's Butch Jones being considered for Illinois, North Carolina gigs and soon, UCLA (according to the local rag). Local fandom going bat-shit crazy, still asshurt over Dantonio and Kelly leaving for greener pastures.

The Penn State opening will be one of the most interesting to watch...

No established coach in his right mind would want that job.

I disagree. One way or another, the scandal will be resolved and it'll be back to business as usual. It always is.

You don't think this scandal will loom for at least another few years?

I think who Penn State winds up with will be an indicator of whether that's truly the case.

The JoePa thing could make Penn State more attractive because you get a clean slate. There's no trying to hang on to the JoePa era. The next coach can bring his people with him to his heart's content. PSU will probably want no ties, at least right now, between the new staff and the JoePa staff.

At least, I would think that. I don't know that.

I think the fans and alumni will have a really hard time accepting someone who has no ties to the school.

I think the exception might be if they hired a really big name, but that will not be easy to do.

They can't hire anybody with ties to the school because there are no PSU alums currently coaching who didn't play for Paterno.

The alums are just going to have to live with it.

Schiano is the one I wonder about. He hasn't been at Penn State since 1995. He coached under Sandusky and Paterno, but I think that was before any of the allegations were raised.

I don't know the answer. I just know we've heard precious little about who they could hire.
