Lyon just made John Axford look like Mariano Rivera. He was throwing nothing but meatballs up there ...

Lyon was ... I'm not even sure what words to use. Phils finish with 10 hits in the game. Six of them ninth-inning singles.

White Sox up 14-0 in Cleveland, not a bad start.

The Tribe did outscore the White Sox 10-1 from the time I posted that.

So the Royals squander leadoff doubles in back-to-back innings, as they are wont to do... but Kila Kaaihue (sic, I think), comes through with a walkoff dinger in the ninth. Woot.

Solid debut for Jeff Francis... 7 innings, one run, six hits. And the bullpen was nails for the second straight day. Magic number now 160... or 161... or 162

Two games with good pitching. I didn't think the Royals would have any games with good pitching.

Nice winning homer from the Kila Monster.
