I see Phil faltered a bit to finish four shots back.

    +8 is the projected cut.

CBS is rooting like hell for JB Holmes to keep it up this weekend.

A JB/Angel Cabrera grouping would be entertaining......if nothing else to see who can drive it the farthest.

I love that Oakland Hills is dominating the players...causing some of them to whine about its toughness.

Fucking priceless. I love golf, but whiny golfers are pathetic.

I can't believe I'm writing this, but I enjoyed this Drew Sharp column.

Classic Sergio at the end. What a douche. I hope he finishes second in 25 more majors and never wins one.

What do you mean? Sergio wasn't complaining.

"It's a tough course, yes," he said.

    Was it unfair?

"Did I say that?" he answered. "It's a tough course. It's really tough. But it's playable."

Sergio did say it rather sternly. It was obvious he didn't want to go there.

it was more the "did i say that?" snap which is defensive and unnecessary.

I had totally forgotten about that.

It's extremely hard to tell whether somebody messed with the ball or not, but either way, it was one of the luckiest breaks of all time. It's also possible he might have made par anyway -- chipping back into the fairway, hitting a long iron into the same greenside bunker he was in and getting up and down for par. Would have been the same result. I doubt he would have made double-bogey, which is what it would have taken for May to win.

But what can you do? It wasn't his fault. It's not like you can determine where the ball might have ended up if the kid did indeed kick it. That's life.
