... and this after missing much of last season with an ACL tear. The Whalercanes really need this guy.

 

The good news is that Brind' Amour, who had knee surgery yesterday, is expected to be ready for Opening Night.

The Whalercanes can certainly use Brind'Amour's grit and uncanny faceoff ability. But Williams is a better pure offensive talent, and with Erik Cole foolishly dealt during the offseason, the injury will exascerbate the situation.

 

Satan and the Baby Jesus on the same line? Will the Pens celebrate goals with religious discussions?

OK, probably not. But there are plenty of Miro Satan-BBJ jokes that can and will be made this season. All funnier than my crappy one-liner, too.

As long as they work well together, Penguins fans will simply celebrate the religion of hockey.

 

Nowhere near as serious as Williams, but the Bolts' Nick Tarnasky will be out 2-3 weeks with a broken finger.
