In this case, it's the last story on our front, so no real room for a great clever headline.

  2. Gracias. Second win in a row for me at the Derby after not having won since Funny Cide in 2003. Of course, this year's payout was nothing like last year when I hit the exacta, but still on the plus side for the day.

    I'll take it.

    Orbasm.

And if he wins the Preakness? Double Orbasm.

And if ... you get the drift.

The highlight of the day for me was seeing Bob Costas towering over Gary Stevens. Hell, Bob Costas towering over anyone.

Not knowing horse racing much, is there ever a concern that horses will slip in the mud considering their speed around the turns?

Susannah Collins would be fired just for thinking that.

I dunno, Michelle Beadle did give a handy j to a horse's tongue during the pre-race.

A fine race by Orb, but - as usual - I'm astonished at the number of turf writers who rush to write the "This one looks like a Triple Crown winner."

Can we save that until Orb has won two legs of it?

Well, if I had to bet on a horse to win the Triple Crown this year, he'd definitely have my money.
