Rumor control: Jason Reid to the Washington Post?

A non-sports friend of mine in the business sent me an e-mail saying that Jason Reid was going to the Post from the L.A. Times to cover the Redskins and asking if that was a coup.

Anybody know if this is indeed the case?

I think we had this on the Damon Hack thread... Needless to say, it appears to be true...

That might be the most brutal beat in professional sports...

Sorry, all. Been away a few days -- up in the Alexandria/D.C. area, coincidentally -- and missed it on the other thread.

If you succeed on that beat you'll be at SI or ESPN within a few years, but I would imagine that covering the Skins for the WP would be a colossal pain in the ass given the relationship between Snyder and the paper...

Jason just became a daddy, hope he isn't distracted on a new beat.

Tough period for NYT: Deputy sports editor Kristin Huckshorn bolts for ESPN and now Hack. The latter might be missed more, from what I hear.

The paper is by no means a colossal pain in the ass.

Snyder, on the other hand... :)

    That's what I meant... Garcia-Ruiz is a great SE.

But that is a volatile relationship between the paper and the team...
