Makers Mark by a landslide. Very smooth.

For my taste buds the best rum in Mount Gay from Barbados. Great on its own or great mixed.

Whatever you do, don't pull an Eddie Harris. It's very bad to steal Jo-Bu's rum.

Parrot's Bay coconut rum is tremendous stuff. Mixed with OJ or Diet Coke ... tremendous.

Malibu rum smells like suntan lotion.

Not bad on French toast apparently, if Don Draper is to be believed.

I can think of four at comparable prices that are way better.

You may go to the head of the class. Makers Mark by a mile.

As for rum, good rum is good. Bad rum, like some cheap ass stuff I got hold of once, is, well, really bad.

On the Irish front, I've traditionally been a Bushmills guy but bought a bottle of Jameson the other day. I prefer the Bushmills.

I've got a buddy that is big into Scotch. He is a huge Johnny Walker Black drinker and brings it around. Not too long ago there were half dozen of us went in on a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue. For the price difference, there is a lot of hype there not worth the extra $100+ a bottle.
