A Virginia sixth-grader gets suspended for a year when his assistant principal found what appeared to be a marijuana leaf in his backpack. The problem is, it wasn't, and three tests confirmed this.

However, apparently the law states carrying something that looks like something bad is also grounds for expulsion. As is someone else thinking it's bad. As is joking that it hypothetically could be bad. Even after a prosecutor drops all charges because tests show it's not bad.

A school that takes situations like this seriously would have dealt with the problem swiftly and decisively.

They should have taken him out back and shot him.

I'd hate to see the chaos if the kids were assigned to collect leaves.

What do they do when kids drink water? It looks like vodka, you know.

I look forward to Rhody and Schieznic's thoughts on this.
