I blame everyone and if they move out of the 'Burgh I am boycotting the NHL for a few years!

now I know what the Quebec Nordeques fans felt ... their team ripped from their city on the verge of great things, only to see them win the Stanley Cup in another city a year later ... looks like history is about to repeat itself [sobbing ...]

Hey, be a man and quit crying. Unlike those guys up north, YOU got your Cup. Two of 'em.

Marc-Andre Fleury would look pretty sharp in this get-up.

The whole story is written as a suck-up/cheerleading piece for the Penguins -- full of buzzwords, veiled threats and slanted verbiage designed to sway readers to immediately contact their local officials to demand the new arena gets built.

Why, the Penguins are willing to make an "annual contribution of $4 million."

Yeah, for an arena which will probably cost taxpayers something like $400 million to build. That's mighty big of them.

Pirates. They've only been around since 1887. I double dip in MLB with the Royals and Bucs because they're in different leagues, so it's not like they're ever competing against each other, save for one interleague series every three years.

Wow, hatred from a Pittsburgh fan AFTER I identified myself as a victim of this very thing. Nope, I guess I have no room to speak.

One thing that's sure to get me going, though, is an angry Pittsburgh fan.

actually nothing is coming from taxpayers, it is coming from us selling our souls to build casinos in the state, the estimated cost is $290 million, $7.5 million a year for 30 coming from the casino builder, $7.5 million a year for 30 coming from the revenues the state will be getting from the casino and the rest from the pens ... somebody correct me if my figures are a little off

Here's the Tribune-Review story. Not as much slant, though not much to it at all, really.

They did have numbers on an offer the state withdrew, which I don't think the P-G had in its story.

Now I'm wondering if the Trib has been pushing hard against spending any local or state money to help build the arena, as it did with the football and baseball stadiums.

    Looks like Dennis Herron. JR?

The only other thing I have is Norm Green still sucks.
