Too many skeletons in the closet. Actually, most of them are on display in the living room.

The chick that he was banging in the basement of Gracie Mansion while his wife and kids slept upstairs won't help either.

    Forgot about her, Webster.
Mayor's office PR asisstant, no? Or was that yet another little dalliance.

    Oh boy.
I'm not shocked, but I'd rather see McCain as the republican of choice.

I'd guess Bruce Springsteen is not going to sing at a Rudy fundraiser.

    Rudy's campaign slogan:

"If you liked Bush's America, just wait 'til ya see what I can do!"

    BYH,

That actually kind of works in Rudy's favor. The worst thing that can happen to a candidate is having a bombshell released on an unsuspecting public. We know all of Rudy's warts so the public can't be surprised. The public knows Rudy fools around. Everyone who ever read an article about him knows he once lived with gay men. We know he was good friends with Bernie Kerik. And despite all of those faults, Rudy polls surprisingly well with the GOP base.

I have a hard time seeing how someone other than Romney, McCain or Rudy gets the nomination....the GOP does not nominate out-of-nowhere candidates like Clinton in 92 or Carter in 76. GWB, Dole, GHWB, Reagan, Ford, Nixon, Goldwater, Eisenhower and Dewey were all front-runners when they got the nod (Goldwater less so than the others because he had to hold off Rockerfeller). The last time the GOP went beyond the obvious candidate was Wendell Wilkie in 19-fucking-40. That puts Rudy in the final three, all of whom have serious faults with the GOP base. He has a legit chance to be the nominee.
